IEF seeks to diversify the pool of students who study abroad, as well as the destination countries where they study, helping promising students who might not otherwise be able to take part due to financial constraints.

High School Study Abroad Scholarships
IEF offers free workshops in high schools and through community based youth organizations about summer, semester, year-long and gap-year study abroad scholarship opportunities, and assistance to help complete the necessary applications.

Undergraduate Study Abroad Scholarships
Full-time enrolled U.S. undergraduates who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university are eligible to apply for IEF support to enable their participation in study abroad programs worldwide. The first IEF undergraduate scholarship competition will be announced in spring 2012.
